The latest announcement by Microsoft is a step further in that direction. Furthering its mission to work more closely with the developer community, Microsoft is open sourcing PowerShell and making it available on Linux and Mac OS X. Nadella’s Linux overdrive for Microsoft has got it to release PowerShell on Github under MIT license. Powershell is a proprietary Microsoft platform for scripting and automation. The open sourced Powershell will help developers to port it to Linux and Mac with an alpha build now available on GitHub....

However, Microsoft Edge has not able to see success or gain popularity since its debut in 2015. As a result, Microsoft is rumored to be reportedly working to replace EdgeHTML, the rendering engine that Edge is built on, with a new Chromium-based web browser for Windows 10, according to a new report from Windows Central. The new web browser will be built using Chromium, a rendering engine, which as popularized by its rival, Google Chrome....

Launched in October 2019, Minecraft Earth – an augmented reality (AR) game for smartphones – was designed to rival Pokémon GO. The game encourages players to move around the real world in virtual blocks and collect resources, crafting items, and building structures. “Minecraft Earth was designed around free movement and collaborative play – two things that have become near impossible in the current global situation. As a result, we have made the difficult decision to re-allocate our resources to other areas that provide value to the Minecraft community and to end support for Minecraft Earth in June 2021,” the Minecraft team said in a statement on Tuesday....

Microsoft’s trying to make the translator feature available to larger set of users. Since the removal of sign-up process last month, Skype Translator preview has seen a 300 percent increase in the usage, according to the company. Skype Translator was announced in December last year. It lets you translate your speech in real time both as speech and text. Currently the service supports English, Spanish, Mandarin and Italian languages for real time speech translation, but Microsoft will roll out support to more languages in coming months....

With the support over, you will now no longer receive security updates for Edge Legacy. Further, the new Microsoft Edge will be available as part of the Windows 10 cumulative monthly security update — also known as Windows 10 Update Tuesday (or “B”) release — on April 13, 2021. When you apply this update to your devices, the out-of-support Microsoft Edge Legacy desktop application will be removed from devices running Windows 10 RS4 through 20H1, assuming you are using Windows 10 version 1803 or higher and replace it with the new Microsoft Edge....

As per Capossela they will continue to have Internet Explorer along with a new browser internally coded as Spartan based on its research Project Spartan; Microsoft is still working to get a name for this new browser. Hence whether the new name will be “Microsoft Spartan” or “Spartan” is not yet confirmed however the Internet Explorer will be totally killed, this is confirmed by The Verge report. Bank of Taiwan, Chang Hwa Bank, First Bank and five other banks said on Tuesday (July 12) they were checking their German-made cash machines after First Bank’s ATM machines in Taipei and Taichung were broken into last weekend. First Bank Vice President Yeh Chung-huei told reporters the money was stolen from 34 ATMs at 20 of the bank’s branches in the two cities on Saturday and Sunday. He said malware is believed to have been installed into individual ATMs, making the machines dispense bills automatically....

Now, a security researcher named ‘ZwClose’ has claimed of discovering similar built-in keylogger issue in several HP laptops that allows hackers to record every keystroke of the user and steal sensitive data, including passwords, account information, and credit card details. More than 460 HP Notebook models were reported to have been exposed for exploit to hackers due to the keylogger found present in the SynTP.sys file, which is a part of the Synaptics Touchpad driver that ships with some HP notebook models....
