Apparently, owners of Xiaomi Mi Band 3 fitness trackers in China have been strapping their fitness trackers onto rolls of toilet paper to detect a heartbeat. And to their surprise, these devices are displaying a heart rate when wrapped around a toilet roll. Reports of toilet paper with heartbeats started on China’s social network site Weibo, where people quickly started posting videos and images of their Mi Bands doing the phenomenon....

Now the pre orders for U.S. markets has begun since Tuesday through crowdfunder Indiegogo. Yota has set a goal of raising $50,000 in its 60 days Indiegogo campaign and it says the funds will be used to pay the certifications and regulatory fees that would be incurred during its U.S. launch. The telecom company fixed the security flaw associated with its mobile application after it was notified by the BBC. Ehraz Ahmed, a Bengaluru-based independent cyber-security researcher, who first found the vulnerability in one of Airtel’s Application Programming Interface (API), said in his blog that it took him 15 minutes to find the flaw. Members of the New World Hacking (NWH), one of Anonymous affiliates conducted a series of powerful distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks against the city of Denver’s website (denvergov.org) last Friday afternoon, forcing the site to go offline for the rest of the day. The attacks continued the next day as well when they assaulted the Bank of Denver (thebankofdenver.com).
