Opera on Thursday announced that the latest build of its pre-release Windows and OS X browser will include a new “Power Saving Mode” feature that can increase a laptop’s battery life by 50% or even more in comparison to previous versions of the Opera browser as well as Google Chrome. In a presser, the company revealed that hackers gained access to Opera Sync, a service that lets users synchronize their browser data and settings across multiple platforms. It is investigating the incident, but initially believes the attack may have compromised user data, including passwords and login names.
