The Touch Bar on Windows 10 allows you to easily access the Start menu, search, Cortana and also switch between apps running on the device instantly. In other words, the Touch Bar can be used as a substitute for Taskbar on Windows 10. However, this hack will only work if you run Windows 10 on a MacBook Pro. In order to make the Touch Bar appear on the MacBook Pro, the developer @imbushuo used Microsoft’s USB Common Class Generic Parent Driver (USBCCGP) and a modified Windows Registry entry to switch to the second configuration on Windows....

As it stands, the tech tycoon is willing to pay a per-share price of $54.20 in cash. Facebook describes a legacy contact as “someone you choose to look after your account if it’s memorialized.” With legal contacts feature, users over 18 years of age will be able to appoint one of their family members or Facebook friends as their heir who gets rights to administer the account after their death. The online executor will be able to write one last post on user’s behalf or “provide information about a memorial service,” update the cover and profile photograph, and also add “old friends or family members who weren’t yet on Facebook”....

Exactly six years ago, in October 2009, Arkansas native Schuler Benson switched his flip phone on to find it was logged in to a female stranger’s Facebook account from Colorado. The woman, Celeste Zendler, had no mutual friends and he had never seen or even heard of her before. This new mapping project is part of Facebook’s Internet.org Connectivity Lab, which announced this week that it has created new, high-resolution population-distribution maps of 20 countries, most of which are developing. The group is tasked with using drones, satellites, and lasers to improve internet access in rural areas and developing countries. Robert Chen, director of Columbia’s Center for International Earth Science Information Network, believes the maps will have many uses beyond Internet access projects....

The social network officially announced a suite of tools and updates designed to help Facebook users better connect with the businesses using its platform. It is expanding Messenger beyond being a friends-only service, making it easier for brands to talk to customers directly. As part of these changes, businesses will now see their Facebook Page usernames being more heavily promoted across the site, and they have been given two new ways for people to begin chatting with them: Messenger Links, which are short URLs, and scannable Messenger Codes....

The company said that “We are gradually rolling out an experimental new feature that enables people to add OpenPGP public keys to their profile; these keys can be used to ‘end-to-end’ encrypt notification emails sent from Facebook to your preferred email accounts. People may also choose to share OpenPGP keys from their profile, with or without enabling encrypted notifications.” In order to avoid countless spams or alerts, many of the users turn off their email notifications from Facebook....

For those unaware, in June this year, Facebook had announced its own digital money (cryptocurrency) called ‘Libra’ with an aim to make sending money immediate, free and secure for billions of its users using its apps and social network. The Libra Association, the group working to launch Facebook’s proposed cryptocurrency was founded with 28 members including Facebook and 27 other partners, such as Visa, MasterCard, PayPal, Coinbase, and venture capital firms like Andreessen Horowitz and Union Square Ventures....

“At Facebook, we believe that if you share data with one service, you should be able to move it to another. That’s the principle of data portability, which gives people control and choice while also encouraging innovation. Today, we’re releasing a tool that will enable Facebook users to transfer their Facebook photos and videos directly to other services, starting with Google Photos,” Steve Satterfield, Director of Privacy and Public Policy at Facebook announced in a blog post....

For those unaware, last month, Facebook had unveiled its “Messenger Rooms” feature for a small subset of people to compete against Zoom, another video chat product that has surged in popularity due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) lockdown. Messenger Rooms app allows users to host video calls of up to 50 people with no time limit from Messenger or directly from Facebook via News Feed, Groups, and Events. Zuckerberg also confirmed the Rooms integration for WhatsApp as well as Instagram....

Reported first by Bleeping Computer, the fake email pretended to warn the victims of a “sophisticated chain attack” from an advanced threat actor known as Vinny Troia, who is the head of security research of the dark web intelligence companies NightLion and Shadowbyte. “The FBI and CISA are aware of the incident this morning involving fake emails from an @ic.fbi.gov email account. This is an ongoing situation, and we are not able to provide any additional information at this time....

However, we have to remind you that the handset the FBI managed to get into was an iPhone 5c, a previous generation smartphone featuring Apple’s A6 chipset and a ton of security features that are deemed inferior to the ones being used today.
