LG has announced the Puricare Wearable Air Purifier their battery-powered air-purifying mask that aims to filter the inlet flow of air.

The Tech Behind The Mask

The homemade mask often has issues of inconsistency and quality. LG has put in two HEPA 13 filters, the same ones which are used in LG’s line of air purifiers. Furthermore, the mask is equipped with UV-LED lights to kills the inflowing germs in the air.

On top of that, masks are battery-powered for fans to help the wearer in breathing and sensors to detect breathing patterns for adjusting fan flow and speed. The backup is 8 hours on low fan mode, and 2 hours on high fan speed, powered by an 840 mAh rechargeable battery. That’s not all; the mask comes with a chargeable case, which can send a notification to the LG ThinQ mobile app(available on Android and iOS) when the filters need to be replaced for maintaining consistent performance.
