Fortunately, the HyperDrive USB Type-C 5-in-1 Hub is here to make it easier for such users making it the only dongle you will ever need. The HyperDrive is tiny and neat, with dimensions of 115 x 28.5 x 8.5mm and it weighs 34 grams. “We designed HyperDrive to feel like a natural extension of the 2016 MacBook Pro with similar product lines, thickness, right angled edges and rounded corners. HyperDrive is made of CNC precision milled aluminium available in both Space Gray and Silver to match the color and appearance of the MacBook Pro. We also wanted an adapter hub that users can leave on their MacBook Pro as they move around. As such we did away with connector cables and have HyperDrive connect right next and flushed to the MacBook Pro”, says Sanho Corporation. The HyperDrive has been launched on Kickstarter and it is specifically made for the MacBook Pro 2016. It is a compact and portable hub that has a HDMI port, Thunderbolt 3, USB-C port, a pair of USB 3.0 ports, along with SD and microSD card slots. The dongle uses 45Gbps bandwidth to drive its selection of 7 ports and enable them all to be used simultaneously if needed. While the hub will cost $99 at retail in the future, the cheapest super early bird price starts at $49 if you pledge through the ongoing Kickstarter campaign. The first models (only for super early bird buyers) are expected to ship in February 2017, with volume shipping for other purchasers to start in April.
