How to Reset Lost Windows 10 / 8 Login Password with PCUnlocker Enterprise?
In the event you get locked out or lost admin access to your Windows PC, you need to create a PCUnlocker boot media using another PC with Internet connection. PCUnlocker Enterprise comes in the form of a compressed .zip file. After decompressing, burn the resulting ISO file to an empty CD or USB stick using the freeware ISO2Disc.
Note: When creating a bootable USB drive, you need to choose the “GPT (required for UEFI boot)” option from ISO2Disc if your locked PC comes with UEFI firmware. Insert PCUnlocker boot media into your computer that you need to reset password on. Boot up the PC and select the PC to boot from PCUnlocker boot media (CD or USB stick).
After loading WinRE environment from the CD/USB drive, you’ll see a screen that shows all user accounts existing in your Windows SAM database. Choose an user and click on “Reset Password” button.
This will clear your forgotten password immediately, and convert your login to a local account if it’s a Microsoft account.
After Windows password reset, click the Restart button and remove the PCUnlocker boot media. When booting to Windows sign-in screen, leave the password field as empty and press Enter, you’ll be logged in.
What to Do If You Forgot PIN or Picture Password?
In Windows 10/8, both PIN and Picture password are sign-in options that are linked to a local account. If you’ve forgotten the PIN or Picture password on your computer, you can easily change or remove it by opening the Settings app, then going to Accounts -> Sign-in options.
This requires you to remember the local administrator password or Microsoft account password. If you can’t remember it any more, you can take use of PCUnlocker to reset the password.
