Strap the Rockets The BFR – short for Big Fucking Rocket – is what SpaceX intends to use to make travel to Mars a reality in its Interplanetary Transportation System. Elon Musk however, believes that the same rocket can also be used to transport people between two distant points on the earth. By his calculations, people one day might be able to board a rocket in New York and arrive 7,000 miles away in Shanghai in 39 minutes. 80 to 200 people can go from from Hong Kong to Singapore in just 22 minutes, LA to Toronto in 24 & London to Dubai within 30 mins. ” Fly to most places on Earth in under 30 mins and anywhere in under 60. ” tweeted Elon Musk. With such big plans , Musk also clarified that ticket prices would not be higher than normal economy tickets – the company might save costs elsewhere like in their Mars plans.
