Making a Facebook post, Asus confirmed that the much anticipated update for the Asus ZenFone 5 will be expected to start rolling in after 3-4 months in around September 2015. The Facebook reply was posted by Asus to a user query about Lollipop update for ZenFone 5, “It will be released in a span of next 3-4 months! We regret the inconvenience caused to you.” Users will remember that ASUS had promised a quick Android 5.0 Lollipop update for its first-generation ZenFone smartphone series in mid-May. Asus however confirmed delay in Android 5.0 Lollipop earlier this month update rollout to the ZenFone 4, ZenFone 5, and ZenFone 6 smartphones due to issues in verification. If the verification issue is fixed by Asus Engineers, all three smartphone i.e. ZenFone 4, ZenFone 5, and ZenFone 6 users would receive the Lollipop update by the start of September. The Asus PadFone S which was also expected to receive the update has also been delayed by around same period, Asus said. As of now, the LTE-variant of the ZenFone 5 has only received the Android 5.0 Lollipop update. The Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Asus ZenFone 5 LTE version is being delivered OTA and is 820MB is size. The update brings upgraded Kindle, Asus Webstorage, and Super Note apps to the ZenFone 5. It has new lockscreen which removed standalone wallpaper, revamped Dialler and Contacts, removal of in-call animation and cover; addition of My Ocean wallpaper, Day Scene Live Wallpaper, TripAdvisor, and Asus Auto-start Service Manager app, and auto-start service manager, as well as improved VOIP phone call function and music function. In addition to the above, 1GB RAM ZenFone 5 LTE version receives a updated weather App, changes to the quick settings/recent app layouts.
