Microsoft’s Quantum Development Kit was first revealed at the Ignite conference in September. According to the company, the Q# programming language is a high-level programming language that includes a native type system for qubits, operators and abstractions. The local version, released as part of the preview, can simulate up to 32 quantum bits (qubits) using a typical laptop (some 32GB of RAM). Microsoft is also offering an Azure-based simulator that can scale up to 40 logical qubits of computing power....

Customers took the issue to Microsoft Community Forum and Reddit [1,2] and as per ZDNet this issue has been encountered only in Surface Laptop 3 devices with aluminium cases, not those covered with Alcantara fabric. Although the widespread of this issue was unclear, the higher number of reports caused concern and hence in February, 2020 Microsoft initiated investigation for the same and now the company has responded publicly explaining the possible cause of the problem....

Now, researchers from MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) have developed an AI-assisted image editing tool that automates many parts of the editing process for photos. This will make the job of editing photos easier. “Instead of needing an expert editor to spend several minutes tweaking an image frame-by-frame and pixel-by-pixel, we’d like to make the process simpler and faster so that image-editing can be more accessible to casual users,” says Yagiz Aksoy, a visiting researcher at MIT’s CSAIL....

According to The Korea Times (via GameInformer), the Korea-based PUBG Corp had filed a lawsuit way back in January with the Seoul Central District Court against the Korean unit of “Fortnite” developer Epic Games alleging that the latter copied “Fortnite” from “PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds” (PUBG). “We filed the suit to protect our copyright in January,” a PUBG official informed the Korea Times to determine whether Fortnite has copied PUBG. The company last Friday requested an injunction at the Seoul Central District Court, hoping to stop the alleged infringement....

Dr. Samer Aldhaher, of the Imperial College London, seems to finally solved the drone’s power source problem by creating a lightweight battery-less drone hovering in place. This drone is powered only by the wireless power transmitter beneath it. Dr.Aldhaher’s demo solves the problem of having batteries aboard a drone and is another wonderful step towards ditching batteries altogether. The wireless power drone technology is still in its nascent stage so don’t expect this particular quadcopter to make a cross-country flight without batteries in tow....
