According to reports from The New York Times, a team of hackers who executed the attack as early as March on the South Korea-based company appear to be from China, known as the Codoso Group who managed to gain access to LoopPay’s corporate network. The incident was framed as a case of international, possibly corporate, espionage, rather than just another hack. The breach was discovered in August, giving the hackers a full five months access to the network....

Evaldas Rimasauskas, a 50-year-old Lithuanian citizen, who plead guilty in New York’s Southern District Court last week faces up to 30 years in prison depending on whether or not he’s found guilty of wire fraud, aggravated identity theft, and three counts of money laundering charges. The sentencing date has been set for July 24. After being arrested by Lithuanian authorities in March 2017, Rimasauskas was extradited to the US in August 2017....

The palm-sized robot was built using a combination of molding for the body and 3D printing for the legs.
